A Complete Walkthrough of Cal.com’s Booking Dashboard & Its Key Features

The best scheduling software is simple

Today we're going to talk about Cal.com's Booking Dashboard. It's a simple feature, but it’s an essential part of every Cal.com account. However, because it's so integral, some of the benefits it offers aren't necessarily obvious. This article is going to help change that. By the time you finish reading this post, you're not just going to understand more about your booking dashboard, but you're also going to be able to leverage its unique features in order to save time and make the most of your appointments.

You can access your booking dashboard from the menu on the left-hand side of your account dashboard. Just click on the tab marked "Bookings," and you'll be there. If you haven't made a booking or if you don't have many appointments, your dashboard might look a little empty. Don't worry about it; all the information that we're going to go over is suitable for all account types and use levels.

Booking Dashboard basics

Let's talk about how the dashboard is organized. There's a bar at the top of the screen marked with labels, and we're going to go over each one starting from left to right. The booking categories available are as follows: upcoming meetings, unconfirmed meetings, recurring meetings, past meetings, and canceled meetings. Each one of these tabs acts as a container for the relevant appointment type.

Upcoming bookings

If you click on your upcoming tab, you'll be able to view the meetings that have been confirmed but have yet to happen. This is also where you can reschedule a meeting or edit the details, such as the location of the meeting. This is super useful if plans slightly change and you need to adjust the appointment details accordingly.

Unconfirmed bookings

The unconfirmed tab is essential for anyone who's enabled the "requires confirmation" or "opt-in meeting" feature. This feature means that when someone books a meeting with you, it won’t be added to your schedule until you personally approve that meeting. If you've enabled "requires confirmation" and are expecting someone to book a meeting but haven’t seen anything added to your schedule, it might be because the appointment still needs to be confirmed. Checking your list of unconfirmed bookings is a great way to make sure nothing slips between the cracks.

Recurring bookings

This section is for people who use Cal.com's recurring events feature. This is an appointment type that is especially useful for people working in fields like sales, healthcare, and education. Recurring events are a bit different from regular events. The way they work is that someone will book once, but that one booking will create repeating appointments based on the frequency parameters you declared via event-level settings.

Past bookings

The past tab is where you go to access all of your previously scheduled meetings. However, it's also where you can download your meeting recordings. If you're a paid subscriber, you have access to Cal Video's Pro features, which include the aforementioned video recordings. So if you recorded a video and want to review it but aren’t sure where to do that, this is the place.

Canceled bookings

This area is where you can view any appointments that were canceled by either you or potential meeting attendees. Being able to easily review canceled meetings is really useful because it means it's easy to see if there are specific clients that are repeatedly canceling or if there is a certain time slot or day of the week that's more likely to experience cancellations.

What are filters?

Now, one final button you might have noticed way off to the right-hand side of your screen is a button marked "Filters." Filters work by allowing you to search through various parameters like people, event types, and dates to see information related to your upcoming, unconfirmed, recurring, past, or canceled meetings. This lets you quickly and easily reference information and find what you're looking for without having to scroll endlessly.

With this, we have completed our overview of your Cal.com booking dashboard. Now you know what everything is, and this knowledge will help you as you continue on your scheduling journey.
