Discord friendly calendar scheduling is finally here!

The whole idea behind Cal.com is to provide scheduling infrastructure that everyone can use. We created Cal.com to be an equally impactful and meaningful tool, regardless of whether you're a multinational enterprise or a small hometown volunteer. To do this, we've built a system allowing people to add a host of no-code enhancements to their calendar sketching environment — our App Store. The Cal.com App Store has categories that span from video conferencing integrations to analytics, automation, and more. One of our latest additions is Cal.com's app for Discord.

What is Discord?

Discord is a social media platform that nearly a quarter of a billion people use. The platform allows people to communicate instantly via voice, text, and video. You can think of Discord as Slack for the everyday user. Because Discord is focused on individuals, as opposed to businesses, it has many social features like emojis and animated avatars that people can use to add a personal touch to virtual communication. People often use Discord to create online communities around a specific theme, topic, or content base. You'll find that there are Discords for bird watching, photography, and Warhammer 40K. Basically, if you can imagine it, a Discord server caters to it. With this in mind, it should be no surprise that Discord has, in many ways, become a digital gathering place where people both work and play.

Cal.com 's new Discord app means you can now set your Discord server as a virtual meeting location. This means you can set specific times to connect with community members or host events.

Why Cal.com + Discord Works

Using Cal.com with Discord lets you build upon and extend Discord's capabilities. What do we mean by that? People on Discord servers often are located in different towns and different time zones. It can prove difficult to coordinate times to hang out and communicate. Using Cal.com, however, can simplify things. Instead of going back and forth in chat to coordinate schedules, you can simply share a Cal.com link with multiple booking seats. Your Discord server members can click that link and sign up for the specific event or meeting. Cal.com will handle all the stuff related to time zones, and the only thing you'll have to do is show up. You can also take advantage of Cal.com's QR code app to generate an image which you could then upload and pin in Discord and that users can scan with their phone to be redirected to a booking page. In addition, you can use Cal.com for fundraising or monetization by connecting your Stripe account to your Cal.com account and charging a specific amount for participating/attending an event.
