Reclaim Your Time: Setting Up Requires Confirmation in Cal.com

The Importance of Boundaries

Boundaries are important; we recognize that at Cal.com. This is why we have a whole host of features that our users can leverage to help protect their time. We have apps like WipeMyCal that will clear out your entire day if something goes sideways. We also have booking limits that help you dial in the exact amount of time between each meeting and how often people can book you.

Introducing the "Requires Confirmation" feature

However, this article is an appreciation post for one of our original and often emulated features. It used to be called "Opt-in," but now it is known as "Requires Confirmation". Just like the name suggests, this feature ensures that no appointments are added to your schedule without your explicit permission. When you choose to enable the "Requires Confirmation" setting, it doesn't matter if someone has your link, chooses a time slot, and hits that submit button. Until you decide to accept that meeting, it won't be added to your agenda.

How to Set Up "Requires Confirmation" in 7 Easy Steps

Setting up the "Requires Confirmation" setting is easy. You can apply it to any event type whenever you want. All you have to do is follow the steps below:

  1. Log into your Cal.com account.

  2. Select the event you want to edit.

  3. Click on that event.

  4. Go to the "Advanced" tab and then scroll down until you see "Requires Confirmation."

  5. Click the toggle beside "Requires Confirmation" to activate the setting.

  6. Set your confirmation rules by choosing one of the newly available options.

  7. Click the save button in the upper right-hand side.

  8. Pat yourself on the back for protecting your time.

Protecting Your Time: Cal's Unique Approach

Lots of calendar scheduling services talk about how they save you time, but very few of them talk about how they help you set meaningful boundaries. It is essential for users to have options that let them control what's added to their calendar. Cal.com is different. We believe in empowering the user and setting them up for success. We ensure that our account holders always have access to the tools they need to protect their time-based territory.
